Two Short Days in Bath

I am not a Jane Austin fan *cue the wails* but I am fan of the Georgian era historically and Romantically. (Or simply, all things British.)

We did lots of walking and admiring of Bath during daylight hours, but the main was the twilight package at the Thermae spa.

Roof top pool / deck just waiting for me

Little spa

I thought we would be the only ones there, but we got in line with lots of locals and tourists alike shortly before 4p. For 80 pounds for two of us, we spent three hours splashing about, steaming, and indulging in spa food and bevys. I've never been to hot springs and it was the best way to spend our first evening in the UK - especially after getting off the worse landing I've ever experienced.

After spa evening walk

We were only in town for about 24 hours, so early the next day we went to the Roman Baths in the center of town, near the gorgeous Bath Abbey.

We had gotten the impression there wasn't all that much to see in the baths, but the facilities they've unearthed are astonishing and we almost ran out of time explore the temple / bath site.

It's easy to see why the Romans were drawn to Bath - and others ever since!
